Millions of people suffer from peptic ulcers globally. The root causes may not be the same. However, a number of factors have been identified and may provide relief to those afflicted.
We have two important areas to consider inorder to come up with a remedy to this painful condition. These areas are the ones that can influence gastrointestinal ulcerations. They are namely:
1. Acid and pepsin production in the stomach.
2. The strength of the gastrointestinal mucosal membrane.
Ulcerations will greatly be influenced by the status of the above two in each individual. Correctly addressing and restoring order will lead to ulcer healing. Now let’s look at what may influence discord and hence lead to ulcerations promotion.
Mucosal membrane health

The gastrointestinal tract has a protective mucosal membrane. This protects it from damage from digestive juices. A number of factors have been identified that may result in mucosal membrane weakness hence promoting ulcerations. They are:
1. Smoking of cigarettes. It is known to constrict arteries and can therefore interfere with the healthy circulation within the gastrointestinal tract.
2. Prolonged stressful situations e.g. unforgiveness, self hatred etc.
3. The prolonged consumption of high doses of painkillers under the classified name NSAIDs(Non Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs) These comprises of aspirin, diclofenac, ibuprofen, indomethacin etc.
4. The prescence of a bacteria by the name h. Pylori.that damages the mucosal membrane
5. Genetics weakness may also play a major factor
6. Nutritional style. There are foods that irritate and corrode the mucosal membrane
Excessive Production of Digestive Juices and Acid

1. Smoking is high on the least
2. There are certain medical conditions that may promote the same
3. Histamine production
4. Nutritional factors
5. Genetics influences
